Designed by the English artist Ross Lovegrove, this new bottle is embedded in its thickness with its iconic band allowing for better service and revealing an innovative and refined style. It is precisely for the 140th anniversary of the GH Mumm house and its famous red ribbon honoring its illustrious clients, that this new vintage, the Grand Cordon, is being released in 2016.
In addition to its aesthetic aspect, this new bottle allows in particular a blossoming of aromas and an increase in the conservation time thanks to its narrower and more elongated neck. Coming from the best vintages, the Pinot Noirs which mainly make up this cuvée are assembled with the freshness and finesse of the Chardonnays, as well as the fruit of the Pinots Meuniers.
Grand Cordon reveals fragrances of white-fleshed fruits on the nose as well as notes of lychees and pineapple. It then evolves towards honeyed notes and dried fruits. On the palate, we find this aromatic intensity and we note the perfectly balanced structure of this beautiful, lively and complex cuvée with a round and tasty finish. A champagne to be enjoyed with delicate dishes of white meat or fish.
